Shatakshika Sahayak of Uttar Pradesh stunned fourth seed Sai Ananya Varanasi of Tamil Nadu to move into the girls’ U-18 quarterfinals, during the ongoing CLTA-AITA National Series Tennis Tournament, at the Sector 10 complex. The 14th seed Shatakshika won the match by logging a 6-4 7-5 win over Sai.

Maharashtra’s Devanshee Nikhil Prabhudesai defeated local challenger Mannat Awasthi 6-2 6-4 and Aadirai KA of Tamil Nadu defeated Delhi’s Eshanya Khattar 6-1 7-5. Haryana’s Reet Arora faced a tough challenge from Dhatri Dave before logging a 7-5 2-6 6-4 win, while eight seed Haryana’s Prachi Malik also overpowered Nancy Singh 6-4 7-6(5). Third seed Pal Vipulkumar Upadhyay of Gujarat easily defeated Maharashtra’s Prachi Sathish 6-4 6-0, while Haryana’s Anandita Upadhyay defeated Swasti Singh 6-4 6-2. Jaya Kapoor of Uttarakhand logged a convincing win over Gujarat’s Hiya Arvind Kugasia without conceding a single game.

Meanwhile, in the boys’ U-18 category, Maharashtra’s Neev Ravi Kothari defeated 14th seed Punjab’s Paramveer Singh 6-2 7-6(3). Sreenivas Nikhil Kurapati of Karnataka ousted Punjab’s Sumukh Marya 6-1 6-3 and fourth seed Maharashtra’s Swaraj Shailendra Dhamdhere outplayed Ribhav Saroha 6-3 6-2. Haryana’s Tavish Pahwa defeated Maharashtra’s Anuj Abhijit Tashildar 6-1 6-2, and fifth seed Omkar Rajendra Shinde also moved ahead by defeating Harsh Malik 6-2 6-2.Chandigarh’s Akshat Dhull recorded an easy 6-1 6-0 win over Nithinbarath KS of Karnataka, while Punjab’s Armaan Walia recorded a comeback 2-6 6-3 7-6(5) win over Haryana’s Aryan Chauhan. Second seed Parth Prasannakumar Deorukhakar also logged an easy 6-4 6-0 win over Heet Kandoriya of Gujarat.
