Sherell wins gold at TT meet

Sherell Chhabra defeated Maira Kapoor 11-8 11-7 9-11 11-6 to win the girls’ U-14 final on the opening day of the Chandigarh Table Tennis Tournament being organised by the UT Sports Department at the Sector 23 TT Hall. Bhumika claimed the third position by defeating Aanya 11-3 9-11 10-12 11-9 11-3.

Abhinav Kaushik won the boys’ U-14 final by defeating Divpratap 11-5 11-4 11-7. Teetiksha Goel won the girls’ U-17 title by defeating Prabhleen Kaur 11-9 16-14 13-11 13-11. Vishal Garg blanked Pritish Sood 12-10 5-11 11-7 11-7 to win the boys’ U-17 title. Aditya Phondini claimed the third position by defeating Eeshaan Vashisht 7-11 11-9 11-9 11-6.

In the girls’ U-19 final, Vani improved from one game down to beat Pelf 9-11 11-6 11-8 11-6. Cherrish claimed the third position by defeating Anjali 12-10 11-6 11-3. Samarth Sharma won the boys’ U-19 title by overpowering a tough challenge from Bhavya Yadav 11-4 6-11 3-11 11-9 11-8.
