The spikers of Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22, posted a 25-11 25-13 win over Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 35, in the boys’ U-17 inter-school volleyball tournament.

The GMSSS-26, defeated Government Model High School (GMHS), Maloya, 22-25 25-21 28-26, while Guru Nanak Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Sector 30, beat Modern Ways School, Sector 29, with a 25-19 25-4 verdict. The GMHS-25 posted a 25-14 25-10 win over DAV Public School, Sector 8.

Meanwhile, Tribune Model School, Sector 29, posted a 21-12 win over GMSSS, Mani Majra, in the girls’ U-17 basketball tournament, as Ashlay gathered 13 points. St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, posted a 14-9 win over Mount Carmel School, Sector 47, with Ravleen (8 points) scoring majority of the points.

Vivek lads triumph

The boys’ U-17 team of Vivek High School, Sector 38, posted a 4-0 win over the GMSSS-22 in the inter-school football tournament. Yug scored the opening goal in the 3rd minute, while Aseem doubled the lead in the 12th minute. Mannit (26th) and Naman (38th) scored a goal each. St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, posted a 4-1 win over Aashiana Public School, Sector 46, as Sarthak scored a brace and Chaitanya and Pulit posted a goal each. Yash pulled the lone goal for the Sector 46 team.
