Chandigarh: Top seed Shrawasti Kundliya blanked second seed Sherry Sharma 6-3 6-2 to win the girls’ U-12 final on the concluding day of the Roots AITA (CS 3) U-12 National Ranking Tennis Championship at Zirakpur. Chandigarh: Sports Complex, Sector 42, registered a 25-16 21-25 15-25 win over Star Club, Sector 46, in the opening match of the Chandigarh State Sub-Junior & Senior Volleyball Championships on Wednesday. Athletic Club, Sector 7, defeated Sai Volleyball Club, Sector 29, 25-18, 25-17 while Hospitech Club logged a 25-17, 25-15 win over Star Club, Sector 46. Minerva lads exit U-21 league

Chandigarh: Jagat Singh Palahi Football Academy defeated Minerva Academy Football Club 5-4 in a tie-breaker-finish semifinal match of the JCT U-21 Youth League on Wednesday. Armaan handled the ball in the box and Minerva Academy conceded a penalty kick at the quarter hour mark. Tarun Slathia converted the spot kick to put Jagat Singh Palahi Football Academy ahead. However, Minerva bounced back after Himanshu Jangra converted a free kick to make it 1-1 in the 16th minute. Thereafter, both sides failed to score a goal. TNS
