Accepting the State Election Commission (SEC) order to hold a re-polling in two booths of Ward No. 10 of the Mohali Municipal Corporation, Cabinet Minister and local MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu today said the Congress candidate would now win with a record margin.

Sidhu said on February 14, like all wards of Mohali, elections were held in a peaceful, free and fair manner in Ward No. 10. The Azad Group candidate, Paramjit Singh Kahlon, was troubled by his apparent defeat in the elections at the hands of the Congress candidate, Amarjit Singh Sidhu, contesting from the ward, he alleged.

Sidhu alleged Kahlon wanted to stop the Congress candidate’s entry into the MC by filing cases in the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the SEC. He said his wish would never be fulfilled and the Congress candidates would win this election.
