The mother-daughter duo began with an “Aman Da Kaafila”, followed by “Saathi O Saathi”, a song penned by Dolly Guleria’s father Jogindra Singh.

The 76-year-old singer during her performance shared that her father who wrote the song and her mother, singer Surinder Kaur, sang it for the first time. “I was six then but I still remember it,” she recalled.

Their rendition of “Raati Asan Taareyan Naal Gallan Kittiyan” and “Minni minni tareyan di lo…” struck a chord with audience, many of whom were barely conversant with Punjabi.

“Kaale Kaale rang da paranda” had Punjabi youngsters in the audience breaking into an impromptu jig. Sensing the mood, the mother-daughter duo performed “Bajre Da Sitta”, a classic performed by their mother.

Sunaini, a third generation singer, then belted out “Ambarsarein de papad mein khaandi han”, “Latthe di Chadar” and “Kaala Shah Kala”.
