In view of the Assembly elections in Punjab, the UT Administration has decided to grant special casual leave on Sunday to all employees who are working with the Administration, boards, corporations, institutions, industries, factories, private sector, shops and also within the meaning of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act and are registered voters in Punjab to enable them to exercise their franchise. Daily wage employees in industrial shops and commercial establishments will be entitled to the benefits of paid holiday extended under the Representation of the People Act.
