St Anne’s School, Sector 32, recorded a 3-2 in over St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, in the tiebreak-finish match of the inter-school boys’ U-14 tournament for football, at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 23.
It was the Sector 44 team which drew the first blood in the third minute, as Samik successfully netted the ball over the goal line. After struggling for a while, the Sector 32 team found the equaliser through Yuvraj in the 30th minute. The scores remained unchanged at the final whistle, and the Sector 32 won the match on spot kicks.
Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, logged a 4-0 win over Ryan International School, Sector 49, as Viraj, Ranbir, Pratham and Jaivin netted a goal each for the side. St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, also recorded a 3-0 win over Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36. Mahtab, Vihaan and Mahesh were the goal-scorers for the winning side. Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, logged a 2-0 win over Government Model High School, Sector 29, with Harshit and Chetanya netting a goal each.
Sector 10, 16 schools in softball final
The boys’ U-14 softball teams of Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 10, and GMSSS, Sector 16, reached the final of the inter-school tournament. In the semifinals, the Sector 10 team defeated Ryan International School 9-6, while the Sector 16 team recorded a 18-7 win over Government Model High School, Sector 11.
St Joseph’s cagers bt Ryan Int’l counterparts
In the boy’s U-14 basketball event, St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, posted a 37-15 win over Ryan International School and St Anne’s overpowered Strawberry Fields 36-25. In the girls’ event, Vivek High School, Sector 38, defeated RIMT, Mani Majra, 22-4 and Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, ousted St Joseph’s School 23-1.
