St Soldiers’ Club defeated Gilco Club 3-0 in the boys’ U-17 quarterfinal on the opening day of the 35th Chandigarh State Table Tennis Championship for Sardar Gurmeet Singh Grewal Memorial Trophy at the Sector 50 Sports Complex.

Neelesh defeated Mehtab 11-6 11-8 11-9, Vihaan ousted Eeshan 10-12 14-12 11-7 13-11 and Vadya overpowered Vashit 11-7 11-7 11-9 to make way into the semifinals. Sector 50 Boys’ Club defeated Sector 34 Boys’ Club 3-1. Parth lost the first match to Vaibhav 9-11 10-12 9-11, however Nandish Vedi defeated Dev 11-6 11-8 11-8 to level the scores. Bhavin Kalia defeated Tarush 11-6 11-6 13-11 and Nandish Vedi outplayed Vaibhav 12-10 13-11 11-8. Warriors Academy defeated Positive Academy 3-0. Siddharth defeated Naman 11-8 12-10 11-9 and Samkit Jain overpowered Kairav 11-8 12-10 11-8. Ankush outplayed Atharv 13-11 11-8 11-6. In the girls’ U-19 youth quarterfinal, St Josephs Club defeated Tender Heart Club 3-0. Vani defeated Bhuvi 11-4 11-5 11-8, while Teetiksha blanked Ishani 11-5 11-7 11-7. Prabhleen ousted Ishrat 11-6 11-7 11-7. In girls’ U-17 event, St Josephs Club defeated Tender Heart Club 3-0 to march into the semis. Vani outplayed Suhani 11-5 11-8 11-8 and Teetiksha defeated Bhuvi 11-5 11-8 11-7. Prabhleen won the last match by defeating Ishrat 11-5 11-811-7.
