St Xavier’s School, Mohali, recorded a nine-wicket win over Saupin’s School, Sector 32, to win the Richard Shear Memorial Cricket Tournament organised by St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44.

Batting first, the Sector 32 team posted 60/4 in the allotted 10 overs. Shriom (17) and Reyansh (8) were the two major scorers for the side. Shresth claimed two wickets, while Guransh and Apaar took one each for the bowling side. In reply, the Mohali team chased down the target for the loss of one wicket as Gauransh (36) and Apaar (19) contributed major share. Samarath took one wicket for the bowling side.

The hosts St Xavier’s claimed third position by recording a six-wicket win over Delhi Public School, Sector 40. Batting first, the hosts posted 73/4 in the allotted 10 overs. Nimish scored 28 and Rudra posted 15 for the side. Adity and Ijay took one wicket each for the bowling side.

In reply, the Sector 40 team scored 46/8 as Adity contributed 8, Vedansh 6 and Sharwin 6. Ekamjit and Dhruv claimed two wickets each for the bowling side, while Mansehaj picked one. Nimish won the title of ‘Super Striker of the Tournament’, while Shresth was adjudged ‘Golden Arm of the Tournament’ and Apaar was named ‘Emerging Star of the Tournament’.
