Chandigarh: A five-day short-term course (STC) on “Integrated Optics” organised by the department of electronics and communication engineering (ECE), Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), was inaugurated by Dr Anantha Ramakrishna, Director, CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh, Director of PEC and Head of ECE department. The event witnessed participation of over 50 international and national students. The speakers include experts from IITs, IISC, CSIR and SCL. Prof Ramakrishna talked about the role of optics in quantum computing and controlling the light at the micro and nanometer scale. TNS
