A campaign was launched today for street vendors, enabling them to accept and make payments digitally. Mayor Ravi Kant Sharma launched ‘Mai Bhi Digital’ campaign in presence of MC Commissioner Anindita Mitra from Shastri Market, Sector 22.

Sharma said the Centre had engaged Paytm for the programme in Chandigarh.

The Street Vendors Federation, Sector 22, assisted in mobilising the vendors. A total of 21 street vendors were distributed QR code for Paytm digital transactions today.

Mitra said the training on digital payments to the street vendors would be provided on a safe and secure platform and the cell phones of the vendors would be equipped with the software to make transactions. — TNS
