Street vendors under the banner of the Chandigarh Rehri-Phari Union today held a protest outside the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation office to raise their demands.

Councillor Gurpreet Singh Gabi and Chandigarh Congress general secretary Wasim Mir arrived at the protest site and extended support to the vendors.

Union president Rammilan Gaur presented the key issues being faced by the vendors. Gabi assured the vendors that their concerns would definitely be raised in the upcoming Municipal Corporation House meeting. He stated that many of the issues were extremely important and would be given top priority. He said this matter will also be presented before the MP.

After the protest, the vendors handed over a charter of demands to the MC Joint Commissioner.
