To digitally equip students of government schools, the state government has provided smartphones to over 1.75 lakh boys and girls studying in Class XII, said Cabinet Minister and local MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu after handing over smartphones to students at a district-level function in Mohali on Thursday.

He said the scheme would continue in the next academic year as well. As many as 5,671 students of Mohali district had been provided smartphones, he said. — TNS
