Surinder Sharma overpowered CM Sharma to win the men’s singles 69 final during the 8th Chandigarh State Masters Table Tennis Championships-2024 organised by Chandigarh Veterans TT Committee and Chandigarh Table Tennis Association.

Surinder lost the first game 9-11, but only to bounce back with a 11-9, 14-12, 12-10 win in the next. In the semifinal, CM Sharma defeated DP Datta 14-12, 11-8, 7-11, 8-11, 18-16, while Surinder ousted AK Gupta 11-7, 7-11, 11-8, 11-4.

In the men’s 59 final, Harish Kakkar defeated Naresh Kumar Gupta 11-7, 11-9, 11-4 to win the title. Subhash Chander Sharma won the men’s singles 64 gold medal by defeating Jawahar Bhandari 11-8, 7-11, 11-8, 11-8.

The pair of Naresh Kumar and Suresh Madan won the men’s doubles 59 final by defeating Harish Kakkar and DP Nagpal 3-11, 11-6, 11-7, 6-11, 11-7, whereas Subhash Chander Sharma and Jawahar Bhandari defeated P Chakravarty and Arun Modgil 11-13, 11-7, 11-7, 8-11, 11-6 to win the men’s doubles 64 final.

Meanwhile, MA Khan and Sumit Jangra won the 39 doubles final by defeating Baljit Singh and Ajit Singh 11-8, 11-3, 11-2. In the men’s 49 doubles title clash, the pair of Rajiv Bobby Mehta and Aperapar Singh defeated Umesh Rajpal and Paramjit Singh. Mehta won the 49 singles final by overpowering Paramjit.

Rama Kakkar logged a comeback win over Sukhwinder Kaur to win the women’s 49 singles final. MA Khan won the 39 singles final.
