The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has appointed city-based senior coach and joint secretary (BAI), Surinder Mahajan as an expert for the upcoming BAI coaching development programme for amateur coaches, starting from October 21 at different venues, including Guwahati and Raipur.

The camp will start from October 21 to 29 and will be attended by 100 budding coaches of the nation. Mahajan will take the camp at Raipur (Chattisgarh).

During this programme, various aspects of badminton will be taught to the coaches. Besides covering the theoretical syllabus, which includes trainning method, psychology, knowledge and precautions of sports injury and technical developments, the participants will be given practical knowledge about the sport.

“During this camp, young coaches will be taught about details of the game. Such camps will not only benefit youngsters, but will also provide them with a platform to interact with senior coaches,” said Mahajan, general secretary, Chandigarh Badminton Association.
