Senior Assistant Arvinder Singh, one of the suspects arrested for abetting the suicide of Kuldeep Kaur – a clerk in the Technical Education Department – was sent to judicial custody by the Dera Bassi court today.

Arvinder’s police remand was extended by a day on July 2. He was arrested from Zirakpur on June 30 and sent to two-day police remand.

Superintendent Bhupinder Singh is yet to be arrested, said railway police officials.

Kuldeep (32) had allegedly committed suicide by jumping before the Shatabdi Express on the Ambala-Chandigarh railway track in Lalru on June 23. — TNS
