The Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), New Delhi, has shortlisted the Department of Philosophy, PU, for setting up a study circle, ‘ELENCHUS’.

The purpose of the ‘ELENCHUS’ is to organise monthly talks and lectures on philosophical issues. The first lecture through Skype was delivered by Prof Florian Cova, Department of Philosophy, University of Geneva, Switzerland, on ‘Experimental Philosophy of Aesthetics.

Dr Shivani Sharma, Chairperson, said academicians from across the globe would be invited for lectures through Skype and scholars from different academic institutions would be invited for one-to-one interaction. Prof Cova reflected on the notion of experimental philosophy. He elaborated on the the ‘nature of intuitions’ dealt with by philosophers. — TNS
