Tableaux prepared by the state government depicting the great warriors of Punjab, women’s empowerment, and Punjabi culture were displayed in the district today.

The tableaux showcased the history of some of the great warriors of Punjab — Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, Dr Dewan Singh Kalepani, Madan Lal Dhingra, Lala Hardyal, Sardar Ajit Singh (Pagri Sambhal Jatta), Baba Khadag Singh, the Saga of Jallianwala Bagh, and the great woman warrior Mai Bhago.

The route of the tableaux was from Kurali to Kharar and halted at Chappar Chirri Khurd to prepare for departure to the next location tomorrow.

CM Bhagwant Mann earlier accused the Centre of rejecting the tableaux from his state because of the BJP’s anti-Punjab syndrome. Meanwhile, the Centre had termed the accusation ‘baseless’.
