The senate members elected two fellows (non-Syndics) as members of the Board of Finance (BoF) for a term of one year and five members of the academic council for the term starting in February 2020 and extending to January 2022.

As the VC exited the Senate hall, three members withdrew their names from the nominations, including Chandigarh BJP head Sanjay Tandon, who is also a member of the Administrative Advisory Council. PUCASH member Rajat Sandhir and SCD Government College Prof Mukesh Arora will now be part of the Board, which shall consist of the VC as its chairman and the Dean of University Instruction.

The nominations, duly proposed and seconded, for the BoF included Sanjay Tandon, along with Principal of DAV College-10 Dr Balbir Chand Josan, IPS officer (retd) Gurjot Singh Malhi and Dr Shaminder Singh Sandhu from DAV College. The Senate also elected five fellows to the academic council — Harpreet Singh Dua, Associate Prof at Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana, Dr Iqbal Singh Dandhu, Principal of Panjab University Constituent College Sikhwala, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Dr KK Sharma, Associate Prof at AS College in Khanna, Dr Parveen Goyal, UIET, and Surinder Kaur, Gopi Chand Arya Mahila College, Abohar.
