The Democratic Teacher Federation (DTF) of Punjab today staged a massive protest rally outside the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) office today demanding swift resolution of their long-pending departmental issues.

Hundreds of teachers from the Punjab School Education Department raised slogans against the government outside the PSEB office and threatened of massive protest rally if their issues were not resolved.

Today, they took out a rally from Amb Sahib Gurdwara to the PSEB office. They termed the AAP government’s education revolution as hollow. They also threatened to stage a protest rally at the PSEB office on the Teachers’ Day (September 5). Later, the protesters submitted a memorandum to the Education Minister and Education Secretary regarding their demands. Officials of the Director School Education (Secondary and Primary) met teachers and assured them of resolving their demands by August 21.

Protesting teachers said the government was avoiding a meeting with them and backtracking from its promises. DTF Punjab president Vikram Dev Singh, 6635 ETT Teacher Union state president Deepak Kamboj and 180 ETT Teachers general secretary are demanding regularisation of their services.
