Team Punjab, captained by Col PS Gill, won the Golf Sixes Junior Tournament at the DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram. The team had Chandigarh’s Gairat Kaur Kahlon and Guransh Singh. Ranveer Singh Gill, Shlok Limaye, Upraj Singh Mehendiratta and Zorawar Singh Chahal bagged the title.

The event saw six teams from North India compete in the Texas Scramble format. Teams of Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Haryana took part in the event. The event was attended by the Women’s Golf Association of India chairperson Champika Sayal and R&A Development Manager, PGA, Neal Graham.

Graham said that this was the first time the R&A had conducted a junior tournament in India at the DLF. The GolfSixes League format has been developed by the R&A, the Confederation of Professional Golf, the Ryder Cup European Development Trust, DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour and is supported by the Indian Golf Union.“GolfSixes is a fast-paced and dynamic format that features teams of six players competing in six-hole matches,” said IGU president Brijinder Singh.
