Chandigarh folks adore their pets, especially dogs, pampering them, dressing them up, and giving them royal names like “Simba” or “Princess.” But when it’s time for a walk? The love suddenly takes a nap.
Instead of enjoying the morning breeze with their furry companions, many owners ‘delegate’ the joy to the hired help. And what do these helpers do? Leash in one hand, phone in the other, they shuffle to a bench just out of sight and dive into reels while the dog sits beside them, dreaming perhaps of squirrels and sniff-worthy adventures.
After the precisely timed 20-minute “walk,” they return with a bored, anxious, and thoroughly unexercised dog.
In contrast, dogs walked by their owners are a delight to watch —wagging tails, happily sniffing every bush, relaxed, and responsive. The proud pet parents too, are smiling, chatting with their furry babies, and even exchanging greetings with fellow walkers. It’s a visible bond and a mutual joy.
So why give up this happiness for a few extra minutes of sleep?
C’mon, Chandigarh! Your dog’s at the door, leash in mouth, eyes full of love and hope. Don’t let a reel-watching helper steal your moments. Rise and shine… and walk your dog. It’s the best part of your day. You just don’t know it yet.
