Ashutosh, a lawyer by profession, was returning home in his car around 9.30 pm when a Hyundai i20 car with a Chandigarh registration number began following him. The victim told the police two people were present in the car, which overtook him and tried to stop him.

The driver stepped out of the vehicle and hurled abuses at him. He allegedly grabbed him and threatened to kill him before leaving. The driver, however, returned and tried to block his way.

Just as he was about to reach his home, the victim was again stopped by two cars. Four youths, including the Hyundai i20 driver, attacked Ashutosh with iron rods and baseball bats.
