Ambala, April 15

The police have arrested three men for allegedly impersonating as gangster Bunty Kaushal and his accomplices and demanding Rs. 2 lakh from a local resident as extortion money today.

The suspects have been identified as Hunny Verma, Ashwini and Monu of the Jandli area in Ambala. They will be produced before the court tomorrow.

Vipin Kumar, a resident of Baldev Nagar, in his complaint lodged with the police on April 12, stated that he ran a juice shop near the Jagadhri gate in Ambala City. He received a WhatsApp call from an unknown number and the caller introduced himself as gangster Bunty Kaushal.

The complainant alleged that the caller demanded Rs. 2 lakh. In the meanwhile, they also made a video call and threatened to kill him if he informed someone about the call.

A case has been registered at the Ambala City police station. Superintendent of Police Jashandeep Singh Randhawa had constituted a team under CIA-1 in-charge Sandeep Kumar to trace the caller.
