Three girl students from the district figured in the state merit list for Class XII exam results declared by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) today.

As many as 5,474 students had appeared for the Class XII exam, of which 4,924 passed for an overall 89.95 per cent result.

Parneet Kaur, a student of School of Eminence, Khamanon Kalan, secured 99.00% in sciences to be ranked 5th on the state merit list. Another science student, Shehnaz Khan of School of Eminence, Amloh, got 98.4% in to be placed 8th on the list. Meenal, a student of MG Ashoka Girls Senior Secondary School, Sirhind, meanwhile, was plced 14th with 97.20%.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Sona Thind congratulated the meritorious students, saying she would call them to her office to honour them as they have brought laurels to the district.
