Three persons have been arrested for gambling in separate cases.

In the first case, the Kalka police raided a place near the Kalka bus stand on getting a tip-off about gamblers. An undercover cop posed as a customer, leading to the arrest of Parmanand, a resident of Tagri Kaliram, Kalka. Gambling paraphernalia and Rs 1,220 were recovered from the spot.

In another case, Sub-Inspector Karnail Singh, with his team, raided a place near a liquor vend at Amartex Chowk and arrested Ashish, a resident of Rajiv Colony for allegedly luring people into gambling with number games. The police recovered Rs 650 from the spot. A case was registered at the Sector 14 police station.

In yet another case, a team of the Sector 14 police station, led by Head Constable Neeraj, acted on a tip-off and raided the Budhanpur area. Trilok Singh of Rajiv Colony, Sector 17, was arrested and a sum of Rs 1,470 was recovered from him.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Srishti Gupta appealed to people to report any gambling activity in their area immediately on police control room numbers 0172-2582100, 75083-24900, Dial 112 or at the nearest police station/post. She assured that the identity of informants would be kept confidential.
