Three more lose battle to virus, 174 infected in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, August 25
Three persons died of Covid in the city today, taking the toll to 40. Besides, 174 new cases, the biggest single-day rise in the UT, were reported, taking the tally to 3,209.
A 51-year-old woman from Sector 44 died at the GMCH-32. She had pre-existing heart problems. A 70-year-old woman from Palsora died at the PGI. She too had heart problems and was diabetic. The third fatality was of an 80-year-old man from Sector 33, who was diabetic, had hypertension, hypothyroidism and CNS lymphoma. He died at the Sohana Hospital in Mohali.
The UT has been reporting significantly high number of cases this month. Since August 17,
the city began reporting infections in three digits. — TNS
