3 arrested for selling IPL tickets on black market

Police have arrested three suspects involved in the illegal sale of Indian Premier League (IPL) match tickets at inflated prices. The accused have been identified as Naveen, a resident of Jind, and Darpan and Parharsh Anurag from New Delhi.

The arrests took place during the First Qualifier match between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Mullanpur Cricket Stadium.

Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police, Harmandeep Singh Hans, confirmed that an FIR has been registered under Section 318(4) of the BNS at the Mullanpur police station on Thursday.

According to police reports, the accused had purchased a large number of tickets in advance and were selling them at inflated prices near the stadium. Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officials apprehended the suspects red-handed.

"An investigation is underway to uncover any wider network or accomplices involved in the racket. Those engaged in black marketing and overcharging for tickets will face strict legal action," Hans stated.
