The UT poilce today arrested district crime cell inspector among three cops in the alleged Rs 5cr ATM cash embezzlement case by two employees in Baghpat, UP.

The accused identified as inspector Jasminder Singh, head constable Satish and senior constable Samundar had been arrested by the crime branch for criminal conspiracy in harbouring the accused. The trio was suspended on Tuesday evening after the accused, Rocky and Gaurav of Shamli, UP, were arrested from Rajasthan a day before. The police have recovered a weapon and a live round from them.

The UP police was pursuing the case and shared the information with their UT counterparts. After the incident, the duo had escaped to Chandigarh, sources said. A case under the Arms Act was registered against them at the Sector 39 police station recently.

After their arrest, UT police have shifted the district crime cell in charge and posted Inspector Jaspreet Singh Bhullar as the new in charge.
