Top seed Harshana A defeated Haryana’s Deepangi Rawat 15-4 15-2 in the girls’ U-15 category at the ongoing Yonex-Sunrise Ashwani Gupta Memorial All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament, at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 3.

Siddhima Sahu also marched into the next round by defeating Mahratta’s Yukti Shende 15-11 16-14, while Yazhini SK of Tamil Nadu posted a 15-8 15-5 win over Kanishka Sogarwal of Uttar Pradesh 15-8 15-5.

In the boys’ U-17 age group, Dev Dhyani cleared Round 3 by recording a comeback win 9-15 15-8 17-15 over Aarush Pawaskar of Goa. Girivasan Saravana Kumar also moved ahead by defeating Reechik Guhathakurta of West Bengal in a three-game tie 15-10 12-15 15-7 and Mohamed Nafeez Raffi also put some effort to overpower Angaraj Gogoi of Assam 15-5 10-15 15-4.

Maharashtra’s Avadhut Kadam defeated Delhi’s Raghav Manoj Sharma 15-9 15-9 and Anirudh Reddy Challapalli of Karnataka ousted Rajasthan’s Shivam Hada 15-13 15-8. Karan Sanjai Andavar also moved ahead with a 15-8 10-15 15-10 verdict against Arnav Thakur, and Venkata Umesh faced some resistance against Rafael Mascarenhas before recording a 15-7 15-17 15-11 win. Pridhav Shyam Gopan of Kerala defeated Gauransh Gupta 15-8 15-8, Arnav Sharma posted a 15-9 16-14 win over Shreeram Ratan and Haryana’s Aaron ousted Karakoram Biri 15-8 15-10.

Meanwhile, the boys’ U-15 doubles opening round, the team of Jashwanth Mahamkali and Nomaan Pappu ousted Zorawar Singh and Vardaan Singh Gill 15-8 15-11. Anirudh Singh and Lakshya Pandey also made an entry to the next round by defeating Manan Rana and Sahibjeet Singh 15-13 11-15 15-11, and Ng Yaiphaba and Yangba Meitei ousted Satyam Bhatia and Vihaan Punia 15-11 15-4. In the mixed doubles event, Samarth Agarwal and Keerat Kaur defeated Keshav Sharma and Haryana’s Aadya 15-3 15-12.

Hayan Mohammed and Sanviya K ousted Niviransh Sundrani and Aaradhya Jha 15-6 15-9. Aarav Dogra and Aradhya Singhh posted a 15-7 15-10 win over Mohammed Umar Shaikh and Dimple Revankar. Anand Maderana and Khushali Sharma came back from 13-15 to defeat Jivika Sohlot 16-14 15-7 and Prithvi Sankrityayan and Lakshya Samhitha Ventrapragada defeated Arsh and Navya Dabas 15-5 15-3.

In the girls’ U-17, top seed Nidhi defeated Kyra Raina 16-14 15-7 and second ranked Dhriti Joshi ousted Akshara Salla 15-7 15-7. Bala Manvitha Reddy defeated Nakshatra 15-5 15-7 and Anushka Epte posted a 15-4 9-15 15-8 win over Vinoshka V. Pankti Marvaniya defeated Ayushi Dutta 15-6 15-4.
