Top seeds sail into quarterfinals

Top seed Delhi’s Sarthak Suden easily moved into the men’s quarterfinals by defeating Maharashtra’s Arjun Abhyankar 6-1 6-1, during the CLTA-AITA National Ranking Tennis Championship at the Sector 10 complex.

Second seed Moksh Puri, another Delhi player, ousted Haryana’s Arntya Ohlyan 6-1 6-0, while fourth seed Omar Rehan Sumar of Maharashtra defeated Haryana’s Aryan Chauhan 7-6(5) 6-4. Mayank Yadav defeated Rahul Singh 6-4 6-4. Sourav Kumar Yadav also moved into the next round by defeating Arnav Harsh of Uttarakhand 6-1 6-1 and local challenger, Keshav Dangi easily moved into the final-eight by logging a 6-3 6-3 win over Tushar Bali of Uttar Pradesh.

Anshumat Srivastava of Bihar won the last pre-quarterfinal of the day by defeating Pranav M Saravanakumar 6-0 6-2.

In the women’s pre-quarterfinals, top seed Vidula Amar of Karnataka defeated Maharashtra’s Pragati Solankar 6-2 7-6(3). Rajasthan’s Suhani Gaur stunned sixth seed Shagun Kumari of Uttar Pradesh 6-3 6-3, and Lakshmi Gowda of Delhi returned from a set down to defeat Sahayak 2-6 6-2 6-1. Maharashtra’s Danica Fernando defeated Mrinallini Sharma 6-1 6-1, Sreenidhi R Amireddy of Telangana ousted Punjab’s Shrawasti Kundliya 6-1 6-3 and Jeetesh Kumari defeated Isha Budwal 6-3 6-3. Samriti Punyani also moved into the next round by defeating Aarushi Raval of Gujarat 6-4 6-4. Saily Thakkar defeated Haryana’s Alexa Jagdeep 6-2 6-0.

Sarthak-Shreyas in semis

In the men’s doubles quarterfinals, Sarthak and Shreyas Dogial defeated Joy Das and Tushar Bali 6-3 6-1. Vansh Nandal and Moksh Puri also moved ahead by defeating Arntya Ohlyan and Swatantar Veer Singh Kajal 6-2 6-0.
