The election for the post of president of the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) will be held on March 2, as the four-year consecutive term of incumbent president Charanjiv Singh has ended.

The election of the new president was announced during a general body meeting of the CBM held today. More than 200 members attended the meeting. Charanjiv Singh, who is one of the founding members of the CBM, has served it as president for multiple terms since 2007.

During the meeting, a committee consisting of Charanjiv Singh, Diwakar Sahoonja, Parshotam Mahajan, Sunil Gupta and Rajat Malhotra under the chairmanship of Sat Pal Gupta was formed to oversee the election process. Nominations for the election will start tomorrow.
