Disappointed over the decision of the UT Administration to extend the corona curfew by another week, the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, the apex body of traders representing over 125 markets in the city, has decided to hold peaceful protests to show resentment within the framework of the corona guidelines.

Charanjiv Singh, president of the mandal, said the traders had been pleading for some kind of relief to them without compromising on anti-Covid measures to contain the deadly virus.

He hoped for some kind of immediate government relief under its lockdown policy, especially towards deeply stressed dealers in non-essential goods who are facing a tough time financially, physically and mentally. — TNS
