Mohali Deputy Commissioner Amit Talwar visited the Bhankarpur village traffic lights to find a solution to the problem of traffic jams today. He was accompanied by Dera Bassi SDM Himanshu Gupta and officials of the National Highways Authority of India, GMADA, MC and the police.

The SDM said the district administration was working hard to solve the problem of traffic jams on the highway. To address this problem, the NHAI is constructing flyovers on this road at the McDonald’s light points and the Singhpura chowk in Zirakpur.

Talwar said it had not been finalised yet whether a flyover, overpass or an underpass would be constructed here. Talwar directed the NHAI officials to work out a plan for resolving the problem of traffic jams at the earliest. Gupta claimed that all arrangements for a smooth flow of traffic on the highway, including the Bhankarpur light points, would be completed as soon as possible.
