The Tribune Employees Union today organised a blood donation camp to commemorate International Women’s Day at The Tribune office in Sector 29.

More than 70 units of blood were collected at the 59th edition of the camp, which was inaugurated by Justice SS Sodhi (retd), a member of The Tribune Trust, in the presence of Gurbachan Jagat, another Trustee. Justice Sodhi lauded the union for taking up the social cause. He emphasised the importance of women empowerment for the welfare of society and said: “The Tribune has set an example in this direction.” The camp was held in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, GMCH, Sector 32, under the supervision of Dr Ravneet Kaur, Head of the Department.

Amit Sharma, General Manager, The Tribune Trust; Naresh Kaushal, Editor, Dainik Tribune; Arvinder Pal Kaur, Editor, Punjabi Tribune; Anil Kumar Gupta, president of the union; and Ruchika M Khanna, general secretary, also attended the event.

The employees who have donated blood for more than 30 times are Anil Kumar Gupta (66), Manish Malhotra (51), Ruchika M Khanna (39), and Ishwar Chand Dhyani and Rajesh Kumar (35 each). — TNS
