Chandigarh, December 8

Vibrations, a musical group, organised a musical evening, in association with the NZCC-Patiala and the Department of Cultural Affairs, at Tagore Theatre here today.

As many as 30 songs were doled out by accomplished singers as a tribute to legends such as Rafi Mukesh, Kishore Kumar and Lata Manna Dey, who had taken Bollywood music to spectacular heights.

Satyadev Narayan Arya, Governor of Haryana, was the chief guest for the evening. The occasion was graced by Bollywood actress Bhagyashree as the celebrity star guest.

The programme commenced on a sombre note with the lighting of a traditional lamp and paying tribute to the music maestros.

As many as 12 musicians, led by Vevel Sharma, and 20 singers performed various Bollywood numbers. Among the performers were Jagan Bains, Naresh Jacob, Anil Sharma, Pawan Chopra, father of Bollywood icon Parineeti Chopra, Saware, Sheetal, Meenakshi, Sarideepa, Sunita Dua, Yogita and ADGP Punjab Sanjeev Kalra. Sarvpriya Nirmohi anchored the evening.
