Trident group gets sponsorship rights

Chandigarh: Trident Foundation has won the sponsorship rights for Punjab men’s and women’s (senior and junior) teams and PCA’s official website. The group will also be the title sponsor for Punjab Inter-District Senior tournament matches – multi-days, ODIs and T20s. They will also sponsor the RCC centres at all the 20 district centres and the President Cup for an initial period of two years. Trident foundation will also Sponsor Barnala, Mansa and Sangrur district teams. The foundation will be spending about Rs2 crore per year on promoting cricket in the state. TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
