Chandigarh, January 7
Three persons have been booked for allegedly manhandling a UT constable and vandalising a PCR vehicle near Colony No. 4, Industrial Area, Phase I.
According to the police, the complainant, Constable Joginder Singh, who is posted in the PCR, along with volunteer Dalbir Singh, was on patrolling duty on the night of January 5.
They received a call regarding some distruabance at Colony No. 4, following which they reached the spot where they met Ranjeet Singh, a local shopkeeper, who stated that a few persons were banging the door of his house and were asking for cigarettes and water bottles.
In the meantime, the miscreants again arrived there and started pushing Constable Joginder. The suspects, one of them identified as Gutnu, started throwing stones on the PCR vehicle and its front windscreen was broken.
The suspects then escaped from the spot.
The police have registered a case against Gutnu and others at the Industrial Area police station.
