Chandigarh, May 28

Two persons have been arrested by the crime branch of the Chandigarh Police on the charge of stealing 12 laptops and eight mobile phones from an office in Sector 34. The theft was reported last month.

The police said they had received a tip-off that the suspects were roaming near Sector 11, following which a naka was laid at the road separating Sector 11 and 12 and the two suspects riding an Activa were apprehended. They were identified as Yogesh Kumar (25), a resident of Ram Darbar, and Ajay (25), a Sector 20 resident.

The police recovered all stolen items from the suspects. During interrogation, the suspects revealed that they had lost their marketing jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic and were currently unemployed.
