The police arrested two Bihar youths employed at a marble shop for trying to rob the owner by firing two gunshots in a bid to rob cash from his car near Chhat light point on Wednesday night.

The accused have been identified as Deepak Kumar and Kaalu.

The victim, Anuj Goyal of Zirakpur, who runs a shop on Airport Road, escaped two gunshots when the duo sitting in the back opened fire at him inside the car. Goyal lost control of the vehicle and hit a roadside pole and sustained injuries. He is admitted to a private hospital in Mohali.

The accused were hired as labourers recently and Goyal used to drop them on his way back home at night.
