Panchkula, April 12

The local police today claimed to have arrested two persons for a murderous assault on a resident of Sector 6 on February 3.

The two suspects have been identified as Roshan and Golu Kharwad, both residents of Haripur village in Panchkula.

The complainant, Ritul Singh, in his statement to the police, had stated that while he was on his way to a dispensary in Sector 4 for vaccination, about three to four youths stopped him. He had alleged that one of them punched him while another stabbed him with a knife on his back, injuring him seriously.

He said he was rushed to the Sector 6 General Hospital for treatment.

On his complaint, a case under Section 323, 324, 506 and 307 of the IPC was registered against the unidentified attackers at the Sector 5 police station.

The police arrested the suspects and produced them in a court today, which remanded them to judicial custody.
