Acting on a confidential tip-off, the cell arrested Sunil Kumar, a drug supplier from Punjab, in the Chandimandir area on May 29 and recovered opium from his possession. He was produced in court and remanded to police custody for two days.

During interrogation, he revealed that he sourced the opium from Hariom. Acting on this information, the police arrested Hariom, son of Thakur Das, a resident of Mohammad Sadiqpur village in Bilari, Sambhal district (Uttar Pradesh), on May 31.

Further interrogation led to the arrest of Deepak, son of Satbir Singh, also from the same district, who had been supplying opium to Hariom. He was apprehended from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, on the same day.

The suspects have been booked under Sections 18 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Chandimandir Police Station. On May 30, they were produced in court and remanded to four days’ police custody. During the remand period, investigators will aim to identify other individuals involved in the supply chain and trace the key figures behind the network.

“Our objective is not merely to arrest the suppliers but to dismantle the entire network that is poisoning society,” said DCP (Crime) Amit Dahiya. “The Panchkula police are also examining the suspects’ bank accounts and mobile phones in detail to map out the full extent of their network and financial transactions. Properties acquired through the drug trade will be identified and seized through proper legal channels.”
