A team from the office of District Town Planner, Panchkula, today demolished two under-construction illegal colonies at Nanakpur and Kona villages here.

Deputy Commissioner Monica Gupta said the action was initiated, wherein 10 damp-proof constructions (DPCs) were demolished with use of earthmover machines in the two illegal colonies in villages Kona and village Nanakpur.

She said Assistant Town Planners Ashok Kumar and Dimpy Rathi and Duty Magistrate Lalit Nanda, SDE, Housing Board Corporation, Panchkula, and police force were also present on the occasion.

She said the department had previously issued notices to the developers for removing the said colonies, but the constructions were not removed and the action had been initiated.
