The police arrested two liquor smugglers and two gamblers after recovering a total of 438 bottles of illicit liquor along with cash and gambling material from them.

Acting on a tip-off, an Anti-Narcotics Cell team led by Sub-Inspector Nirmal Singh raided the Choona Bhatti area of Chandimandir and arrested Satish Kumar, 37, a resident of Ganaur, Sonipat. He was allegedly transporting 204 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor concealed in a taxi. The police said he had purchased the liquor from Chandigarh and intended to smuggle it to Uttarakhand via Morni and Himachal Pradesh.

In a separate case, the Detective Staff apprehended another smuggler, Manish of Pinjore, from whom 198 bottles of country-made liquor and 36 bottles of beer were seized.

Two cases under the Excise Act have been registered.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Vehicle Theft Team, led by Inspector Sunil Kumar, conducted raids at two locations in Pinjore, targeting illegal gambling activities. Posing as customers, the team first arrested Bhushan Sharma near the Pinjore Garden taxi stand and recovered Rs 2,440 in cash. In a subsequent operation near Shori Hospital, police caught another accused, Amreek, recovering Rs 2,230 and gambling tools.

Both the arrested accused have been booked under the Gambling Act.
