When the families failed to locate them despite extensive searches, they reported the matter to the Pinjore Police on the evening of November 17. Taking the matter seriously, the police immediately registered a missing persons’ case.
A special police team was formed under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Kamaljit Singh. The team first gathered detailed information from the families, and then began tracing the girls through their possible contacts, friends and technical assistance.
Throughout the night, the team continued its efforts. Technical inputs revealed that the two girls had left Panchkula and were heading towards Haridwar. The team immediately proceeded to Haridwar, where both girls were safely located.
This morning, the two girls were handed over to their families.
