Two vehicle thieves arrested in Mohali

The two accused with recovered bikes in custody of the Phase 11 police in Mohali on Wednesday.

The police arrested two members of a vehicle lifter gang involved in several theft incidents outside CP67 Mall and Bestech Mall, Sector 66, and recovered eight bikes and two scootys from them in Mohali.

Those arrested were identified as Karandeep Singh, alias Karan, and Gurjit Singh, both residents of Badala Kalan, Amritsar.

Harsimran Singh Bal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, City-2, said the duo had stolen vehicles parked outside malls. He said the accused sold these vehicles at different places in Amritsar. All vehicles had been recovered, he said.

The accused were booked under Section 303 (2) of the BNS at Phase-11 police station and produced in a court, said Station House Officer Gagandeep Singh.
