The court said all sentences would run concurrently. However, the detention already suffered by the convicts during the investigation and trial of this case be set off against the substantive sentences.

The accused were arrested by the police on February 14, 2017 in Chandigarh. Non-commercial quantity of 171 grams of heroin without any permit or licence and a loaded pistol was recovered from them. The accused denied charges and claimed that the police falsely implicated them in this case by planting the contraband, pistols and cartridges.
