The police arrested two Tarn Taran natives and recovered 14.37 kg of opium from them near Lalru today. The suspects, identified as Ranjodh Singh (27) and Jasveer Singh (35), have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) at the Lalru police station.

The police said a luxury car and Rs 5,000 drug money had also been recovered from the two suspects. Mohali SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans said both youngsters were arrested during checking by the Lalru police. They were coming from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh and going to Tarn Taran in Punjab.

The police said the youths were already booked in NDPS Act cases in police stations of the Amritsar rural area.
