The UT police arrested two persons who were involved in multiple vehicle thefts in Manimajra.

The arrests followed a case registered on July 29. A local resident, Sunny, had reported that his Bajaj Pulsar was stolen from near Vishwakarma temple on the Mansa Devi road. The police acted swiftly and arrested Mohammad Salman (30), a resident of New Darshani Bagh, Manimajra; and Mukesh Kumar (29), from Ratpur Colony, Pinjore. The stolen motorcycle was recovered from the Dasehra Ground.

Further investigation into the case resulted in the recovery of two more stolen motorcycles — a Hero Splendor, which was found without tyres and fitted with spare shock absorbers; and a TVS Raider. All three motorcycles were seized under Section 106 of the BNS.

Both accused are reported to be drug addicts and have been involved in serious criminal offences, including arson and multiple cases of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. They were produced before the court and the Judge remanded them in judicial custody.

The police said they would seek their production warrants if more leads emerged during the ongoing investigation.
